Why I Hate the Prius

The Prius sucks. The technology is old. It is ugly, and it is slow. For this article, I will go in depth of why I hate the Toyota Prius.

File:Toyota PRIUS (ZVW50).JPG
Toyota Prius
 By Tokumeigakarinoaoshima
The first part is obvious. It is slow, very slow. Now I know that people will say that it's not supposed to be a speed machine, and I agree. However, it is so slow that it is scary to accelerate on the highway. It takes almost 10 seconds in order to get to 60. That sucks, even for such a weak hybrid. What could Toyota do to fix this issue? They could make a plug in hybrid that has both a powerful engine and a powerful electric motor. The powerful electric motor with provide torque for acceleration and the powerful motor (should be about 200 horsepower) will provide speed. The other thing that Toyota could do is make the Prius lighter. The weight reduction will help acceleration, speed, and fuel efficiency.

 By Tokumeigakarinoaoshima

The second part of why I hate the Prius is that it is ugly. It really is. The Prius doesn't look like a car. It looks like a mutated lizard. Just look at it! The head lights are all messed up. They have like 2 triangles connected together. The tail lights are literally 2 triangle connected together again. The shape of this car is in between a hatchback and a sedan. Honestly, that just looks weird. It's indescribable.

By Tokumeigakarinoaoshima
The third part of why I hate the Prius is that it uses old technology. It is a hybrid. Not a plug in hybrid, a regular old hybrid with technology that has been around for 17 years. Of coarse, there is the Prius Prime. However, that is more expensive than the regular Prius. It is also very slow and still scary to drive when getting on the highway. The solution to this problem is to ditch the hybrid system and go with a standard plug in. The plug in could have a bigger electric motor and a bigger battery. This allows the car to be more efficient. It could also mean that the Prius could have a bigger engine so it means it could be faster.

Top 10 Luxury SUV's

Luxury SUV's are everywhere. There a lot of them. However, not all of them are great. Here are the top 10 luxury SUV's.

1. Mercedes Benz G Class

Mercedes G Class
The Mercedes Benz G Class is a softened up version of the military G Class.  The reason I say that is because it looks all military on the outside, but it is luxurious on the inside. What's so great about the G Class is that it could actually offroad. The G Class is very flexible too, which means no fancy tech is needed. There are also 3 different locking differentials, so you could maximize your offroad abilities.

2. Land Rover Range Rover

2012 Land Rover Range Rover (L405) Vogue SDV8 wagon (2012-10-26) 01.jpg
Land Rover Range Rover
The Land Rover Range Rover is pretty much the opposite of the G Class. There is a bunch of fancy tech such as air suspension and automatic adjustment for the offroading modes that automatically adjusts what offroad you are in depending on the terrain and conditions. The exterior doesn't look like a tough military Land Rover anymore. It looks softened up. Land Rover even abandoned the body on frame design and went for the Uni-body design. The interior is also very nice apart from the awful navigation system that doesn't work.

3. Porsche Cayenne

Porsche Cayenne Turbo (958) front.JPG
Porsche Cayenne
The Porsche Cayenne is an SUV designed with mothers, performance, and utility in mind. It doesn't do a bad job of bundling all those things together. There are different offroad modes. Though you may never use them, it is still nice to have them there. The power of this car is great as all engine options have decent power. Cornering isn't bad, especially for an SUV.

4. Porsche Macan

File:Porsche Macan (2015) from Stuttgart.JPG
Porsche Macan
By Charles01
The Porsche Macan is Porsche's compact SUV. It is quite good apart from the fact that it looks nothing like a Porsche. Everything else is Porsche. Though cornering may not be as good as the 911, it is still best in class. Not only that, seating position is pretty good. It is higher up so you could see, but not so high that it tips when it corners.

5. Bentley Bentayga

File:Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 (35).JPG
Bentley Bentayga
By Rijinatwiki
The Bentayga isn't a luxury SUV. It is one of the most luxurious SUV's ever.  The options are insane. There is an optional Bertling Clock that is made of diamonds and gold. The Bentley Bentayga  coaxes you in full luxury. All the dials and switches are beautiful. The seats and other components of the interior are made of leather. The wood trim is in huge slabs. It is found all around the interior. The Bentayga is one of the most powerful SUV's. It has 600 horsepower.

6. Lexus LX570

File:The frontview of Lexus LX570 (DBA-URJ201W-GNZGK).JPG
Lexus LX570
By Tokumeigakarinoaoshima
The Lexus LX570 is Lexus's full size SUV. It is based off the  mighty Toyota Land Cruiser. However, the price is only 5 grand above the Land Cruiser, and it is a Lexus. The Lexus LX570 has all the same offroad equipment as the mighty Toyota Land Cruiser, so it is as great offroading abilities as the Land Cruiser. Not only that, you get the reliability and luxury of a Lexus. The LX570 is a great overall package.

7. Jaguar F-Pace

File:Osaka Motor Show 2015 (385) - Jaguar F-PACE.JPG
Jaguar F-Pace
By Tokumeigakarinoaoshima
Though the Jaguar F-Pace doesn't seem necessary, it is still the first Jaguar to think about mothers that are rich. You may be thinking, this is the same thing as a Land Rover. However, you are quite wrong. Though Jaguar and Land Rover may be owned by the same brand, it doesn't mean that they build the same SUV's. The styling of the F-Pace is different. It looks aggressive like a Jaguar. Not only that, the driving experience is different. It is much more fun than you average Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

8. Audi Q7

File:2015-03-03 Geneva Motor Show 4126.JPG
Audi Q7
By Norbert Aepli, Switzerland
The Audi Q7 is the coolest SUV ever. The Audi Q7 is equipped with cool technology that isn't  available on the competitors. For example, it has Audi's Virtual Cockpit. You won't find it on you average BMW X5. What Virtual Cockpit is where the place that you speedometer would normally be is a configurable screen that displays things such as navigation, speedometer, and etc. The Audi Q7 also available with air suspension that changes the height a little bit. However, it is only raised by half an inch so offroading still isn't really possible. The Q7 is more of a mom wagon.

9. Tesla Model X

File:2016 Tesla Model X in Lantana Florida 1of2.jpg
Tesla Model X
By Christopher Ziemnowicz
The Tesla Model X is the most advanced SUV. There are so many unique features, not just for SUV's but for all automobiles. The Model X is equipped with the closest features to auto pilot including automatic steering and autonomous parking. It is also equipped with a panorama wind screen that allows you to see a lot more outside. The best part is the air filter. The air filter can filter out most allergens and even has a bio defense mode. The air filter is controlled by the 17 inch touchscreen inside.

10. Cadillac Escalade

File:'15 Cadillac Escalade ESV.jpg
Cadillac Escalade
The Cadillac Escalade is the best American Luxury SUV. It is based off the Chevy Tahoe, so it is very truck like. However, it is much more luxurious than your average Tahoe. For example, there are available massaging seats. It also has Cadillac Cue. Though Cue may suck, the display makes the interior look very classy. Speaking of which, the Cadillac Escalade has a very nice interior. There shiny surfaces everywhere that not only look great but feel great.

Top 10 Rear Wheel Drive Cars That Aren't Supercars

Rear wheel drive cars are known for being fun to drive. They are commonly found on sports cars. Here are the top 10 rear wheel drive cars that aren't supercars. All the cars on this list are on the market right now.

1. BMW 228i

File:BMW 2-Series F22 Avignon Motor Festival 2014-03-23.jpg
BMW 2 Series
By Navigator84
The BMW 228i is BMW's most basic car sold by BMW. It is the revived version of the car that saved BMW, the 2002. The BMW 228i's engine breaks the flat 6 tradition as it is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder that makes 240 horsepower. The BMW 228i is more lightweight than the 3 series, so the handling is better. Not only that, you get a BMW, a legit BMW, for about 30 grand. However, there aren't really any luxury features at base price, but its still a BMW.

2. Mazda MX-5 (Miata)

Mazda MX-5
The Mazda MX-5 (Miata)  is one of the best known roadsters ever as 1 million have already been sold. It is one of the most lightweight sports cars on the market as it weighs about 2300 pounds. The Mazda MX-5 has had a lot of weight losing tricks added on to it. There are now only 4 lug nuts in the wheels instead of 5. There is a manually retractable soft top to lose the weight of the mechanical items involved in operating a power top. Making the weight distribution 50/50 was so important to the engineers of Mazda that they moved the battery to the back.

3. Alfa Romeo 4C

File:The frontview of Alfa Romeo 4C.JPG
Alfa Romeo 4C

The Alfa Romeo 4C is a stripped out. 2400 pound, mid-engine symphony. The interior has no glove box, a tiny cup holder that can't really hold your regular sized water bottles, and a leather pouch as your glove box. The Alfa Romeo 4C is a baby supercar because it feels like a supercar, but it doesn't have the power, nor the price to actually be one. Like a proper handmade, mid-engine supercar from Italy, you get all the fun kinks including no rear visibility and awful build quality. However, the sound and the driving experience will make up for the more rough edges of the 4C.

5. Dodge Challenger Hellcat

File:2015 HellCat.JPG
Dodge Challenger Hellcat
By Hunttirumph1500
The Hellcat is called the Hellcat for a very good reason. There is this ridiculous supercharged V8 that makes 707 horsepower. The Hellcat comes with 2 keys. The black key unleashes about 500 horsepower. The red key releases all 707 horsepower. The Dodge Challenger Hellcat is well known for its power. Its power is sent to the rear wheel , which helps it create some ridiculous burnouts.

6. Cheverlot Camaro SS

'16 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible (MIAS '16).jpg
Cheverlot Camaro SS
The Camaro SS is one of my favorite muscle cars ever. The V8 engine, which makes 455 horsepower, could be found in the Camaro straight from the Corvette. The Camaro is sure one of the meanest cars that I have ever seen. There are tiny windows, the shape, and the lights give it a mean look. The Camaro SS may be one of the most advanced muscle car for its price. There is available magnetic ride control and configurable center display. The configurable display is pretty much the same as Audi's virtual cockpit.

7. Smart Fortwo

2015-03-03 Geneva Motor Show 3806.JPG
Smart Fortwo
By Norbert,Aepli, Switzerland

I have to put the Smart Fortwo on this list. The old one had a robotic transmission, and you could literally smell your passenger's breath. The new one may be wider but it isn't longer. Smart had to make it wider to pass the Small Overlap Test. The extra width allows you to have a more airy environment. The real reason why I love the Smart Fortwo is the personality. There are so many round surfaces inside including a tachometer that spins around. The dashboard is this cloth surface that feels cool. The are a million color schemes for the Smart Fortwo. You start by choosing the color of the Tridion safety cell. Then you chooses the color of the panels. For the interior, you must choose the color of the dashboard and the seats.

8. Ford Mustang GT

Ford Mustang GT
By Sicnag
The Ford Mustang is one of the first muscle cars. When it first came out, it was a hit, and no other competitor from Dodge, nor Chevy could beat the sales of this pony. The Ford Mustang GT is a proper muscle car. The V8 makes 435 horsepower and the Mustang GT hits 60 in about 4 seconds. Not only that, the GT model starts at around 30 grand, so its cheap, unlike German cars with similar power. Because the Mustang is cheap and fast, it is very popular. Last year, it was named the most sold muscle car of the year.

9. Subaru BRZ/ Toyota 86

File:2013 Subaru BRZ (6913347409).jpg
Subaru BRZ
By Micheal Gil
The Subaru BRZ/ Toyota 86 is a 2700 pound sports car. Though it is under powered and slow, it brings out what a real lightweight sports car is about, cornering. It is lightweight and every time you hit a corner at a fast rate of speed, it eagerly pulls a light drift before it adjusts back into a straight line. The great thing about the BRZ/86 is that if you think that it is too under powered, you could boost it without worrying so much because the engine is quite tough.

10. Lexus IS350

File:Lexus IS 350 F SPORT (GSE31) front.JPG
Lexus IS350
By Tokumeigakarionoaoshina
For people who want something quick and reliable, the IS350 is the perfect candidate. The IS350 is the underdog towards the German sports sedans because it isn't as fun to drive. However, the IS350 dominates everywhere else. For starters, it could last longer than your average BMW 3 series so that way headlight repairs won't interfere with winding down mountain roads. The other part is that everything about the IS when it comes to comfort and technology is engineered better. For example, unlike the A4, every time you turn on the car, music won't be blasting. Not only that, the remote touch system may be silly but the interface that it is controlling just seems easier to use as everything is logically placed in a menu unlike have the 4 corners system like the A4 or the "What the Heck is This" system like in the Mercedes Benz C Class.

Top 10 AWD Cars on the Market Right Now

All wheel drive cars are good for traction. Some are just plain old SUVs and others are crazy hot hatches and sports cars. Here are the top 10 AWD cars.

1. Ford Focus RS

Ford Focus RS Mk III 2015 003.jpg
Ford Focus RS
By Ford Motor Company
The Ford Focus is the coolest hot hatch ever. There is a turbocharged 4 cylinder that makes 350 horsepower, which is better than its competitor, the Subaru WRX Sti, which only makes 292 horsepower. The Ford Focus RS is ridiculously insane. There is a drift mode that allows the Ford Focus RS to drift like a boss. The are also these sweet Recaro seats that hold you in place while your pulling some sick donuts.

2. Bugatti Chiron

File:2016-03-01 Geneva Motor Show G072.JPG
Bugatti Chiron
By Ghoster

I thought that the Veyron was uncool for being ugly and the interior looking low tech and boring. The Chiron fixes everything. First of all, it looks like a real race car, which should be the goal because of the sheer speed this thing is able to achieve. Second of all, the interior looks like Pagani came in and designed it. There is a fancy metal speedometer with menus next to it. There is also beautiful metal and leather everywhere. The Chiron is made by Bugatti, so it obviously has some kind of ridiculous engine, otherwise it isn't a true Bugatti. There is a quad turbo 16 cylinder engine that makes 1500 horsepower. There is an electronic limiter that limits this car to 261 miles per hour so no rich guy kills himself after trying to achieve the top speed.

3. Porsche 918

Porsche 918
The Porsche 918 is a plug in hybrid, but is is a Porsche too. There is a V8 and 2 electric motors that make a total of 887 horsepower. The Porsche 918 is the perfect hypercar. The exhaust note is right next to your ears and for the car guy addicted with sound, its perfect. The sound may be great, the performance is even greater. 0-60 in this Porsche takes 2.5 seconds according to Road and Track. It is as quick as a Bugatti Veyron, which also took 2.5 seconds when tested by Road and Track.

4. Tesla Model X P90D

File:2016 Tesla Model X in Lantana Florida 1of2.jpg
Tesla Model X
By Christopher Ziemnowicz
The Tesla Model X P90D isn't your average crossover. There are some really cool features. All the doors are electric so they open when you push the buttons on the remote and the giant touchscreen. There are also falcon wing doors that open upwards. Though there are cool features, the performance and electric range is also cool. The P90D has 250 miles of range and 2 electric motors that make a total of 762 horsepower. That's a good amount of power for a crossover that is electric.

5. Lamborghini Aventador

File:Lamborghini Aventador -- 2012 DC.JPG
Lamborghini Aventador
The Lamborghini Aventador is so cool that Batman drives one in the Dark Knight Rises. What makes the Aventador so cool. First of all, it has a V12 that cranks out 691 horsepower. That V12 sounds like the Batmobile. Second of all, the styling and the way everything comes together is like a fighter jet. There are scissor doors that go up. There are sharp edges that come together to form something amazing. For the interior, there is a cover on the start button to tell you that this car will be like a missile. The switches for everything make it feel like you are piloting a proper fighter jet.

6. Maserati Ghibli S Q4

File:The frontview of maserati Ghibli III.JPG
Maserati Ghibli
The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 is probably one of the best sport sedans out there, There is a Ferrari V6 giving the Ghibli 404 horsepower. The Ghibli not only looks cool, but there are some Italian touches that just makes this a million times better than your average Mercedes Benz. For example, the leather and the style of the seats is proper luxury. The materials inside feel nice and look great. Though it is a luxury car, there are touches from the FCA that just bother me. The U-connect is the same one as the one found in a 20,000 dollar Dodge Dart and it is an 80,000 dollar Maserati.

7. Jeep Wrangler

2010 Jeep Wrangler Islander.jpeg
Jeep Wrangler
By Oshndoc
The Jeep Wrangler is one of the best and most capable SUVs that you could buy. The size is perfect for offroading. The overhangs and the wheelbase are short, so they will not catch onto the rocks that the Wrangler is climbing up. The are some offroading tools too. There is a locking differential and the option to electronically disconnect  the sway bar. These features are standard on the Rubicon trim.

8. Subaru WRX Sti

'15 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (MIAS '15).jpg
Subaru WRX Sti
The Subaru WRX Sti is a rally car that dominates the category along with the now dead Mitsubishi Evo. The Subaru WRX Sti is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged engine that makes 305 horsepower. Although it isn't as insane as the Subaru WRX Sti, it still has its benefits. For one thing, it is reliable and holds 57 percent of its value after 5 years of ownership, which is very good. Though the reliabailty and ability to hold its value so well is great, the performance is still better. The WRX Sti is just as fun to drive offroad as it is to driving on the road. That's because of the superior 4 wheel drive system and proper engine for a car of its type.

9. Nissan GTR
Nissan GTR
By Motor Trend
There's a reason why the Nissan GTR is called Godzilla. The Nissan GTR is one of the least expensive and advanced Japanese supercars on the market right now. There is a twin turbocharged V6 that makes 570 horsepower. When Nissan lets their supercar engineers have some air, they fly. The Nissan GTR can hit 60 in 2.9 seconds, which is insane for a hundred grand supercar.

10. Ram Rebel

File:Rebel1.jpg
Rus793
The Ram Rebel has got to be one of the coolest trucks ever. It is designed to go offroad and compete against the Ford F150 FX4. What makes the Ram Rebel so much cooler than the F150 FX4 is the design. There is this ridiculous grill on the front that spells Ram in big letters. The carpets on the interior have a tire tread pattern. The seats also have a tire tread pattern integrated into the design.

Top 8 Front Wheel Drive Cars on Sale

Front wheel drive cars aren't always good for performance, but some front wheel drive cars are just amazing. Here are the top 10 front wheel drive cars that you could buy from your showroom.

1. Mini Cooper John Cooper Works

Mini Cooper John Cooper Works
By Car and Driver
The Mini Cooper John Cooper Works is a hot hatch that is expensive but very fun to drive. The Mini Cooper John Cooper Works isn't exactly on steroids but  it makes 238 horsepower, which isn't bad, especially since it only weighs about 3,000 pounds. The front wheel drive handling isn't bad since Mini and BMW know their stuff when it comes to handling. After all, Mini is known for their Go-Kart handling, which is why it is a blast to drive. The place where you will be driving this hatchback has many touches from its parent company, BMW. For example, there is the iDrive knob thingy used to control the optional Mini Connect. Speaking of Mini Connect, it has a similar interface as the regular iDrive interface found in every BMW on sale right now.

2. Volkswagen Golf GTI

'14 Volkswagen GTI 5-Door (MIAS '14).jpg
Volkswagen Golf GTI
The Volkswagen Golf GTI is one of the first hatchbacks that is still around today. This car is not only fun but it is practical. The Golf GTI has a 2.0 liter turbo charged engine that makes 210 horsepower. A performance pack is optional. The Golf GTi isn't all grunt because it has a special differential that eliminates understeer, something that car guys absolutely hate when it comes to front wheel drive cars cornering. One cool thing about the GTI is that it has a decent amount of space in the back and the trunk making it a great family car. It is also avaliable in 5 door or 3 door versions.

3. Honda Civic Type R

2015 Honda Civic Type R (19440073144).jpg
Honda Civic Type R
By Edvvc
The Honda Civic Type R is Honda's entry into the ridiculous hot hatch game. In order to be a ridiculous hot hatch, you have to look ridiculous and the Honda Civic Type R accomplishes that with the stupid wing and hatchback shape. It has a 2.0 L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that makes 300 horsepower. The Honda Civic Type R is front wheel drive unlike the other crazy hot hatches, which are mostly all wheel drive. The Honda Civic Type R is insane. The acceleration is nuts. However, cornering takes a lot of effort to push it because of the front wheel drive, the power, and the weight.

4. Ford Fiesta ST

File:'14 Ford Fiesta ST (MIAS '14).JPG
Ford Fiesta ST

The Ford Fiesta ST is a hot hatch that may not have a lot of power, but it is still a energetic car. The Ford Fiesta ST is powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine that makes 197 horsepower. The engine makes this hatchback feel energetic and happy. Though the Ford Fiesta ST seems like an average car, it isn't. There are really cool optional Recaro seats that are available in two tone with orange. Not only that, but the Fiesta ST is very cheap. It starts at around 20,000 dollars, which isn't bad for such a great hot hatch,

5. Toyota Camry

File:2015 Toyota Camry (ASV50R) Atara S sedan (2016-03-19).jpg
Toyota Camry
By EurovisionNim
The Toyota Camry is a great commuter and family car. On the family car side, it is safe. It received the IIHS Top Safety Pick + and 5 stars overall on the NHTSA safety tests. Not only that but there is plenty of rear seat and trunk space. In terms of being a commuter car, it is reliable. It is on Consumer Report's Top 10 Cars Most Likely to Make it to 200,000 Miles and Beyond. If you drive this car, the ride to work is peaceful because of the smooth and quiet ride.

6.  Lexus ES

'13 Lexus ES 350 (MIAS '13).jpg
Lexus ES
No Updated Picture at the Time
The Lexus ES isn't supposed to be a performance car. However, it is one of the best luxury cars for people who aren't fans of performance. The Lexus is one of the most modest looking luxury cars out on the market. The Lexus ES isn't quick, nor is it the most hardcore handler, but it is one of the most comfortable cars. There is a lot of rear leg room and the ride is nice and soft for the person who likes smooth rides. The Lexus ES is a very nice car to be in. There are soft touch materials everywhere, and the synthetic corn material on the seats are really soft. The Lexus ES is a true luxury car for the people who don't care about performance or style.

7. Audi A3 e-tron

Audi A3 e-tron
The Audi A3 e-tron is Audi's plug in hybrid. It isn't your average  Toyota Prius Plug-in. The Audi A3 e-tron hybrid has a 1.4 liter turbo charged engine and an electric motor that combines to make a total of 204 horsepower. Though the Audi A3 e-tron makes a good amount of power for a hybrid of its size, it also has 31 miles of range, which is alos pretty good for the amount of power that it has. The Audi A3 e-tron is your sportier hybrid as it could do 0-60 in around 7 seconds, which is pretty good for a plug in hybrid. It also gets all the plug in hybrid benefits including incentives and carpool lane.

8. Fiat 500 Abarth

File:2012 Fiat 500 Abarth -- 2012 DC.JPG
Fiat 500 Abarth
The Fiat 500 Abarth is like the Ford Fiesta ST. It is light, doesn't have a lot of power, and very fun to drive. Though the engine makes a meager 160 horsepower, this car sounds like witchcraft. The Fiat 500 Abarth is a different hot hatch. The Fiat 500 Abarth is odd. There is an available cabrio that isn't necessary, and the driving position is weird. Fiat designed it so you could look other drivers in the eye. People used to sports cars probably wouldn't like. However, this tall position has its benefits as heel toe position for downshifting and seeing what's going on on the road is much easier.
