1. Immediately Driving After The Car Starts
Car |
Immediately driving after the car starts is something I am sure that you do everyday. However, doing this could cause premature wear to the engine. Cars are expensive. Causing premature wear to the engine is something that could cost you a lot more money in the future. The reason why this happens is because of the oil. It takes about 10 to 15 seconds on a new car and 20 seconds on an older car in order for the oil to get to the critical places. Just wait 15 to 20 seconds and you would drive off knowing that you are not causing premature wear that could be easily avoided with patience.
2. Not Warming The Car Up
Warming the car up is key to making sure the car runs right. However despite knowing this, some people still push their car when it isn't at proper operation. When a car is pushed and it is not at operating temperature, the oil is stripped away from the cylinders and pistons therefore causing a damage. The best way to make sure the car runs right is to warm it up by driving it with low revs and low throttle. That way the engine isn't being pushed and the fuel to air ratio goes back to normal after about 20 minutes.
3. Putting In The Wrong Recommended Fuel
Many people have a belief that if you put premium gas into a car that is supposed to run on regular gas that the car will have better fuel economy and better power. However, that is not true. If a car is supposed to run on regular, put regular in. There is not benefit with premium. It is just more expensive. If the car is recommended to use premium, then use premium. Only in a car that recommends premium fuel is when the car gives more power and better gas mileage on premium.
4. Not Reading The Owner's Manual
People often don't read the owner's manual. This is a terrible mistake. The owner's manual contains everything you need to know about the car in order to make sure it runs right. The owner's manual contains all the fuses that should be used, all the different fluid types, when to change the fluids, how to use the infotainment system, how to install some simple accessories correctly, ect. All this information is key to making sure that the car runs right and that you are safe.
5. Not Inspecting It Often Enough
Inspecting your car is a big deal. It could save your life and could also save you from a ticket. It takes literally 5 minutes to make sure your car is running like it is supposed to. Check the lights and the hazards to make sure that they are working. They could save your life and could save you from an unnecessary ticket. Inspecting your tire is a great way to know if the tires are good and if you need new ones. Simple fluid checks make sure that all the fluids are in tip top shape. These things could help make sure your car runs better and lasts longer.
